Pro Bono & Community Service
The lawyers and employees of Schwartz Roller LLP believe in supporting the community around us. We feel we have a duty to give back through volunteer work and sponsorship of various non-profit organizations. Service encourages responsibility, honest communication, trust, and helps to eliminate isolation. Volunteering builds new skills, develops individual strengths and allows us to share our resources.
Our lawyers and employees donate and volunteer in organizations, such as:
the Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital, the Lakeshore Foundation, the American Cancer Society and the Ms. Wheelchair America program.
The firm and its attorneys sponsor and participate in community group activities such as the Walk for Special Needs to raise money for children with disabilities. The Firm encourages lawyers to participate in professional activities. Schwartz Roller LLP attorneys have accepted leadership positions and participate in various local bar and state associations.
PRO BONO ACTIVITIES
Our attorneys also engage in wide-ranging pro bono matters. Aside from the cases we normally take, the attorneys solely at their discretion, take on matters for individuals who cannot afford legal representation.
The cases the Firm normally handles are on a contingency fee basis. This means our clients do not pay for our services until they receive compensation, whether through settlement or verdict. The majority of our clients cannot afford to pay attorney's fees or the ongoing litigation expenses necessary to prevail at trial. A contingency fee agreement eliminates the financial risk our client would otherwise face when litigating against large corporations.
